Qatar Airways has announced a record-breaking net profit of $2.15 billion for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, marking a 28% increase from the previous year. This achievement is attributed to a surge in global air travel demand, strategic investments, and operational efficiency. (Reuters)

The airline’s total revenue rose to $23.4 billion, up from $22.1 billion the prior year. Passenger numbers increased to 43.1 million, compared to 40 million previously, supported by a fleet of over 230 aircraft comprising Airbus and Boeing models.

Significant contributors to this financial success include a 17% revenue increase in Qatar Airways Cargo and strategic acquisitions, such as 25% stakes in Virgin Australia and South Africa’s Airlink.

Additionally, Qatar Airways placed a substantial order with Boeing for 160 widebody aircraft, including 130 Dreamliners and 30 Boeing 777-9 jets, with options for 50 more. This deal, valued at approximately $96 billion, represents the largest widebody aircraft order in Boeing’s history.

CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer credited the airline’s success to the dedication of its global team and strategic industry partnerships that enhanced agility amid global uncertainties.
