Qatar Airways has finalized a monumental agreement with Boeing to acquire up to 210 wide-body aircraft, marking the largest such order in Boeing’s history. The deal encompasses firm orders for 130 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 30 Boeing 777-9 jets, with options for an additional 50 aircraft.
This significant investment, valued at $96 billion, is expected to support approximately 400,000 jobs in the United States and positions Qatar Airways as the largest operator of 787 Dreamliners in the Middle East. In conjunction with the aircraft purchase, Qatar Airways has also entered into a substantial agreement with GE Aerospace for more than 400 engines, including 60 GE9X engines for the 777-9 and 260 GEnx engines for the 787 Dreamliner fleet.
The signing ceremony was attended by U.S. President Donald J. Trump and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, underscoring the strategic partnership between the two nations.
